Introduction
An international employer may receive applications from candidates with very different professional backgrounds. A clear CV allows the recruitment team to understand your experience quickly and compare it with the requirements of the position.
A strong CV does not need complicated language or excessive design. It should give accurate information in a structure that is easy to review.
Begin with accurate personal information
Include your full legal name, current country of residence, telephone number, email address and the languages you speak.
Check that your telephone and email details are correct before submitting the application. Recruiters cannot progress an application when the candidate cannot be contacted.
Do not include passwords, banking details or unnecessary sensitive information in your CV.
Present your employment history clearly
List your most recent work experience first.
For every position, include:
- Job title
- Employer or company name
- Country or location
- Employment dates
- Main responsibilities
- Machinery, systems or equipment used
- Relevant achievements where appropriate
Explain the work you completed
Avoid using only broad statements such as “worked in a factory.” Explain whether you operated machinery, packed products, completed quality checks, moved materials or supported a production line.
Match your experience to the role
Review the vacancy before sending your CV.
A candidate applying for warehouse work should make relevant experience easy to find, including picking, packing, scanning, inventory handling, pallet movement or forklift experience.
A hospitality candidate should clearly show experience in housekeeping, food preparation, guest service, laundry, cleaning or kitchen support.
Keep the document readable
Use a clean structure, consistent headings and a readable font.
Keep sentences direct and avoid decorative elements that make information difficult to find.
Before submitting, check spelling, dates and contact information.
Be truthful
All information must be accurate.
Do not add experience, qualifications or language skills that you cannot demonstrate. Recruitment may include interviews, employer verification or document checks.
Conclusion
A clear and truthful CV helps recruiters understand where your experience fits. It also reduces delays caused by missing information or unclear employment history.
